Frequently Asked Questions
How often do you update your data?
Our editorial team work year-round to keep our database up-to-date. We compile the print directory by sending out questionnaires to every company on our database and follow these up with teleresearch. This process is supplemented by web and desk research throughout the year. All information on our database is checked at least once during any 12-month period – keeping our database up-to-date is a continual process.
In general, companies have more than 100 employees (or a substantial turnover) and a specified marketing contact.
No. There are many means of quantifying the size of an organisation, including employee figure and turnover, and to definitively list the top companies and organisations would be an impossible task - no data publisher would be able to do so. We do, however, list more than 10,300 of the largest organisations in the UK.
Why do some entries have more information than others?
Companies vary in terms of size and structure. We depend upon the information each company supplies – some provide whole organisational charts, others just one contact name. A few companies request that their contacts are not listed, and we respect this wish. Some companies have “no name” policies and others explain that they cannot even confirm names. To fulfil our obligation to the Data Protection Act we do not list any individual who has requested not to be listed.
I have found some company details that are out of date.
We are aware that information changes all the time so please get in touch with us so we can update the details on our database. If you find an entry where the data is incorrect, please follow the 'Update this Entry' link to let us know about it. Any information you send over will be verified by the editorial team before being uploaded onto the site.
